4 days from Delhi
Situated in the heart of the Kumaon Hills, Corbett is comprised
of an undulating terrain of Sal Forest, Riverine jungle and grassland,
and is home to an exceptional variety of both Himalayan and lowland
wildlife.
Making use of Elephants and jeeps to explore the reserve itself,
your nights will be spent just outside in a comfortable lodge
on the banks of the kosi River. Rhesus Macaque, common Langur,
Golden, and Hog Deer, and the unusual fish-eating Gharial Crocodile
are all common and regularly seen, while the population of Tiger
normally remains discreet.
Infinity Lodge (formally known as Tiger Tops Corbett Lodge) has
24 spacious twin-bedded rooms with en-suite facilities and private
balconies. There is a lounge and dining area, complete with fully
stocked bar and cozy fireplace, and also a swimming pool. Your
stay at Corbett can include a private stay at one of the remote
forest bungalows inside the park. This is made possible by a unique
arrangement we have with infinity Lodge to provide staff to oversee
your food and accommodation and arrange Elephant-back game-viewing
away from the normal tourist trail at what are otherwise extremely
basic government lodges.
One of these is a property called Dhikala. Situated within Corbett
Tiger Reserve this provides primitive accommodation in spectacular
surroundings! Morning and afternoon safaris in the nearby forest
will take up your days, while evenings can be spent relaxing,
drink in one –hand binoculars in the other, observing nature
close to home. A short stay here, in combination with the lodges
outside the Reserve, is highly recommended as tourist rarely frequent
this area of the park.
